Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Volleyball (28-3) were defeated 3-0 by Southern Virginia (23-8) in the USA South Conference Championship Game on Saturday.
The first set was a tight one as Greensboro took an early lead, but the Knights fought back and eventually won the set 28-26. SVU took command in the second set, and despite the Pride making a run near the end, the Knights took the second set 25-22. The final set would go the Knights way 25-21.
The loss ends Greensboro's 23 game win streak. The team went 18-0 in conference play during the regular season, a feat only achieved by one other program in conference history.Â
Kelci Brooks led Greensboro in this one with 15 kills while also having 14 digs.
Taylor Cotie had 5 blocks while
Morgan Mayfield had 15 digs. Brooks, Mayfield, and Cotie all were named to the USA South All-Tournament Team.
