Greensboro, NC - A
Shamar Privette touchdown reception with less than 2:00 remaining helped lift Greensboro College Football (3-7, 2-5) to a senior day win over Methodist (1-9, 0-7) on Saturday afternoon by the score of 13-12.
The low-scoring contest was filled with strong defensive performances on both sides. Greensboro did get on the board first at the end of the first quarter when
Cameron Turner ran one in for a score to put the Pride ahead 7-0. The Monarchs scored 9 points in the second quarter to take a 9-7 lead into the halftime break.
Neither team could score in the third quarter, as both defenses showed their dominance. Greensboro was also held back by penalties, collecting 11 penalties for over 100 yards.Â
Methodist would add a field goal in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 12-7. However, on their final drive of the game, Turner would throw a deep pass down the sideline to Privtette, and Privette would take it all the way to the endzone for what would be the game-winning score.
The win is the second in a row for the Pride to finish the 2025 season. Freshman quarterback
Cameron Turner finished the afternoon with 163 yards passing and 50 yards rushing, totaling 2 touchdowns. Privette totaled 104 yards in his final game as a member of the program, including the game-winning touchdown.
Defensively,
Jay Law had 13 tackles while
Frank Walker had 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Kalil Marcus had an interception to go with 2 tackles.
Ziere Ray had 3 tackles and a forced fumble.
