Brevard, NC - Greensboro women's basketball traveled to Brevard on Tuesday night for a USA South matchup and fell 62-32.
It was a struggle from the start for the Pride as they scored just 4 first quarter points. Brevard scored 20 first period points to take a commanding 20-4 lead, and Greensboro wouldn't be able to catch up the rest of the contest.
The Pride did hold the Tornados to just 9 second quarter points, but again only scored 4 points of their own. The offense came to life in the third quarter as Greensboro scored 15 points, thanks in large part to
Nakiyah Kelly and
Azuria Barrino. Unfortunately the offense would sputter again in the fourth as the Pride fell to Brevard for the second time this season.
Kelly and Barrino scored in double figures for the Pride, while Kelly also had 6 rebounds.
Taya Simpkins scored 5 points on the night with 7 rebounds.
Greensboro gets back at it on Saturday as they host Methodist inside Hanes Gym. Tip-off is set for 4:30 pm.
