Buena Vista, VA - The Men's Lacrosse USA South Conference Tournament began on Tuesday night as Greensboro took on Southern Virginia in the first round. The Pride fell 18-11 in a valliant effort as they came into the tournament as the #6 seed.
Both offenses were hot for the first three quarters. The score was 6-4 after the first quarter as the teams went back-and-forth scoring goals early. The Knights scored 6 more goals in the second quarter and took a 12-7 lead into halftime.
Shortly after the second half began, the teams had to sit through a lightning delay. However it wouldn't last long as the teams got back to action, combining for 9 more goals in the third period. Unfortunately for the Pride they weren't able to mount a fourth quarter comeback as the offense went quiet in the final quarter.Â
Freshman
Jameson Doll scored a team high 5 goals on the night.
William Beyer scored 2 goals in his final game in a Greensboro uniform, and
Justin Barry also scored 2 goals. Senior
