Raleigh, NC - It was an offensive show for the Greensboro Softball team (24-12, 13-5) on Saturday as they swept William Peace to secure the #2 seed in next week's USA South Conference Tournament. The Pride won game one 10-1 and took game two 8-4.

Game one: 

Greensboro took care of the Pacers in game one by run-ruling them in 6 innings. The Pride had a monster 2nd inning to get out to a comfortable 7-0 lead. Anna Frazier started the inning with a home run, followed later by a two-RBI double by Kelsey Craven. Makyiah Simmons then doubled home two more runs to cap off the big inning.

Lauren Engel took to the circle and dominated the William Peace offense. She allowed 5 hits and 1 run and struck out 5 hitters. 

Greensboro totaled 15 hits and 3 doubles for the contest.

Game two:

Makyiah Simmons stole the show in game two, homering twice. She hit home runs in the 1st and 3rd innings, and drove in 3 runs. She had 4 hits on the game and scored twice.

Shortstop M'Kenzie Davis had a 3 hit game with a home run, while Alexis Sox and Raven Taylor had 2 hits each.

Katherine Charlton started in the circle and went 5.0 innings and gave up 2 runs. She also had 3 strikeouts. Lauren Engel would come in to finish off the game by pitching the final 1.2 innings.

Greensboro will host the opening round of the USA South Conference Tournament beginning on May 2nd at Barber Park. They will host Meredith College at 2:00 pm.
