Rocky Mount, NC - Greensboro Women's Lacrosse traveled to NC Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon and took home a 7-5 victory over the Battling Bishops. 

It was a back-and-forth contest all game long. The Pride got out to a 4-2 lead after the first quarter with goals from Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce (2), Sabrina Speake, and Emily Gearhart. 

After no goals were scored in the second quarter, NC Wesleyan got to within a goal of Greensboro after they scored early on in the third quarter. They then took the lead 5-4 with two goals in the fourth quarter.

However, the Pride responded quickly and scored three straight goals to finish out the game. Gabby Heck would score the tying and go-ahead goals, while Gearhart put the nail in the coffin with her second goal with less than two minutes left to play.

On the defensive side, D'Kayla Thomasson got the win in goal after coming through with 6 saves. Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce had 7 caused turnovers as well as 4 draw control wins. Samiah Mitchell had 2 caused turnovers and 5 ground balls.

The team will host Warren Wilson in a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:00 pm.
