Greensboro, NC - Greensboro Softball (8-4) split two games on Sunday, as they fell to Denison University 4-0 and defeated Huntingdon College 12-3.
Greensboro vs Denison:
The Pride offense could only muster up four hits against Denison as
Madison Dillner,
Alexis Sox,
Kelsey Craven, and
Ivy Ray had one hit each.Â
Raina Hampel got the start in the circle for Greensboro, going 2.1 innings and giving up four runs (two earned) and striking out one batter.
Katherine Charlton came in from the bullpen and threw 3.2 innings of shutout ball.
Greensboro vs Huntingdon:
The Pride offense exploded in game two against Huntingdon as they scored twelve runs, nine of which were in the first inning.
Kelsey Craven got the scoring started with an RBI single, and then Payden Reynolds doubled home two more runs. With the score 5-0,
Alexis Sox singled to center field to plate two runs to make it 7-0.
Anna Frazier then singled home a run followed by an error that plated the final run of the inning.
Lauren Engel got the start in the circle and threw a complete game. She went all seven innings, giving up one earned run and striking out four. Her season ERA now stands at 0.70.
Alexis Sox led the pride with four hits on the day. She drove in three runs and scored twice.
Anna Frazier had two hits and a walk.
Madison Dillner and Payden Reynolds had two RBI each.
The Pride will travel to the University of Lynchburg on Tuesday for a 1:00/3:00 double header.
