Pride Volleyball Falls in USA South Quarterfinals

Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro volleyball team hosted Meredith College in the USA South quarterfinals on Tuesday night and fell 3-0 to end their 2024 season.

The Pride fought hard but the Avenging Angels were sharp on Tuesday night, sweeping Greensboro and advancing to the semifinal round on Thursday.

Meredith won the first set 25-18 as they controlled the set throughout. Set two was a wild one, as the teams went back-and-forth. Greensboro had three set point chances, but ultimately could not get the final point in any of those opportunities as Meredith came back to win the second set 29-27. The third set was another tight battle won 25-22 by Meredith.

For the Pride, Krista Brantley led the team with 10 kills. Karla del Castillo had 3 blocks on the night, while Morgan Mayfield led the team in digs with 21.

Despite the loss, Greensboro had their third straight 20-win season and had a 13-5 conference record. Morgan Mayfield was top 5 in NCAA Division III in total digs with 679. Her 679 digs is a new career high. Junior Kelci Brooks also set a career high with 292 kills.
