Prides Drop First In Conference

In a hard-fought conference matchup, the Greensboro College Volleyball team faced a formidable opponent in Methodist University and came up short. The sets were closely contested, with scores of 19-25, 21-25, and 23-25, marking the Pride's first conference loss of the season.

Offensive Effort

The Greensboro College offense displayed determination and persistence, but Methodist University's defense proved to be a tough nut to crack. Payton Shiflet led the charge with an impressive 32 attacks and 18 kills on the day, showcasing her offensive prowess. Kelci Brooks contributed with 24 attacks, while Krista Brantley and Taylor Cotie added 15 and 11 attacks, respectively.

Playmaking Excellence

Jaylyn Templeton shone as the team's primary setter, recording 35 assists. Her ability to create scoring opportunities was evident throughout the match. Defensively, Morgan Mayfield made her presence known with 11 crucial digs, striving to keep the Pride in the contest.

Coach Troup's Perspective

Head Coach Kevin Troup acknowledged the challenge presented by Methodist University but remained optimistic about the team's growth.
