Record Night For The Pride

Greensboro, NC - In a thrilling volleyball match that had fans on the edge of their seats, the Greensboro College Volleyball team faced off against their cross-town rivals, Guilford College, but ultimately fell short of victory. The final score may not have favored the Greensboro squad, but the game was a display of incredible talent and dedication from both sides.

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the exceptional performance of Jaylyn Templeton. Templeton's name will go down in school history as she set a new school record with a remarkable 46 assists. She was not just the team's play maker but also demonstrated her prowess in the attack, contributing 6 kills on 18 attacks and showcasing her defensive skills with 13 digs. Templeton's multifaceted performance was a testament to her all-around ability on the court.

Joining Templeton in the spotlight were Kelci Brooks and Krista Brantley, both of whom made history with their performance. Each of them had more than 40 total attacks, a feat that ranks them in the top 20 in school history. Brantley was a true force to be reckoned with, amassing 13 digs and an impressive 14 kills. Meanwhile, Brooks tallied 12 kills of her own, adding firepower to the team's offense.

Abey Hancock and Taylor Cotie were also integral to Greensboro's efforts, registering more than 20 attacks each. Their double-digit kills of 10 and 15, respectively, demonstrated their ability to step up when it mattered most, contributing significantly to the team's offensive strategy.

Jade Vrobel, with her 13 attacks, played an essential role in the team's overall performance, bringing the team's total attacks to a whopping 171. Each player's contribution was vital in keeping the match competitive and exciting from start to finish.

After the game, Coach Kevin Troup shared his thoughts on the team's performance, saying, "While the final score didn't go our way tonight, I couldn't be prouder of the effort our players put forth.
