Greensboro, NC – On Saturday afternoon at Penn-Wright Stadium at Barber Park, the Greensboro College Softball team hosted William Peace University in the final regular season series for both teams. However, before the doubleheader began, the Pride honored their five Seniors in a pre-game ceremony. Seniors
Brooke Kinley (Lexington, NC),
Kailey Walker (Eden, NC),
Hannah French (Reidsville, NC),
Jenna Endsley (Concord, NC) and
Kassie Simmons (Gibsonville, NC) were escorted by their family as they received tokens of appreciation for all they have done, both on and off the field. They have set the standard for Greensboro Softball and paved the way for future student-athletes to carry the torch for the Pride. Unfortunately, Greensboro would be unable to send their Seniors out with a win, as they would fall to the Pacers by final scores of 5-0 and 1-0. Brooke Kinley
During her career with the Pride, Brooke has amassed an overall fielding percentage of .929 and has 43 put outs, 61 assists, while turning five double plays. This season alone Brooke has 22 total hits and 11 RBI's. She is currently ranked in the top 50 of the USA South Athletic Conference in overall hitting. A former two-year member of the women's basketball team, Brooke's favorite memory is going 6 for 7 against Ferrum. She will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and sports studies with a concentration in sports management and a minor in business and coaching. After graduation Brooke plans to pursue a career in coaching.
Jenna Endsley
Over her career with Greensboro, Jenna has pitched a total of 37 innings, striking out 12, while holding batters to a .282 batting average. Her best performance on the mound came this season on April 5
th against Southern Virginia when she pitched 7 innings, striking out 4, while only giving up 3 runs in the shutout win. Jenna's favorite moment was Pitching her first complete game and shutout this year and also having the whole team there to cheer her on as she won Homecoming Queen. Jenna will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science with a minor in Biology and Exercise Science. After graduation she Hopes to find a job in the veterinary field to pursue her love for helping animals and to join GC Softball coaching staff as the pitching coach.
Hannah French
Over her career with the Pride, Hannah has amassed a total of 46 hits and 37 runs to go along with 32 RBI's. In addition, she has appeared in 111 games, hitting 7 doubles, 3 triples and one home run. She will leave Greensboro with a career on base percentage of .325 with 12 stolen bases. Her favorite memory is the friendships she has made that will last a lifetime. Hannah will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with Minors in Business administration and business analytics and plans to explore different fields of accounting before deciding on furthering her education.
Kailey Walker
During her career, Kailey has appeared in 118 games and has an overall batting average of .316. In addition, she has 118 total hits and 65 RBI's, to go along with 24 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 14 stolen bases. This season Kailey is currently #11 in the USA South in RBI's, with 26, #22 in stolen bases with 5 and #30 in batting average at .330. Her favorite memory is sweeping Pfeiffer. Kailey will graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Health Science with minors in Exercise Science and Biology and plans to attend High Point University to obtain a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Kassie Simmons
Over her career with the Pride, Kassie has been a leader on both the mound and in the batter's box. On the mound she has appeared in 53 games, pitching 37 complete games with a win loss record of 29-13. In addition, Kassie has 5 shutouts, 241 strikeouts and a total ERA of 2.62. This season, she is ranked #4 in the USA South for wins with 13, #5 for strikeouts with 79 and #7 in ERA at 2.64. Offensively, Kassie has a total of 116 hits, with 37 doubles, 5 triples to go along with 13 home runs. She is currently #4 in the USA South this season in RBI's with 34 and #6 in batting average at .396. Her favorite memory is all of the bus rides and sweeping Pfeiffer. Kassie will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science with minors in Exercise Science and Biology and plans to Attend Elon University in August in the Accelerated BSN Program.
