Greensboro, NC – Three goals from Senior
Dominic Scali (Randolph, NJ) and two from Senior
Austin Abourjilie (Greensboro, NC) paced the Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse team's offense today at Pride Filed, but unfortunately, it was not enough as they would fall to visiting Saint Vincent's College (PA) by a score of 15-8.
The Bearcats got on the board first, but after a penalty Abourjilie took advantage of a man-up opportunity when he took a pass from Scali and found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. However, Saint Vincent's proceeded to go on a brief run, scoring two goals in a row but Grad Student
Seth Mandryk (Stonewall Manitoba, CA) answered back to pull the Greensboro back to within one as the quarter was coming to an end and then Mandryk would earn another point in the second quarter when he found Junior
William Beyer (Greensboro, NC) for the score. The Bearcats began to pull away before the half as they went on another run, this time scoring six straight goals, to increase their advantage to 9-3.
The third quarter saw the Greensboro scoring come alive as Abourjilie and Senior
Adian Poole (Hillsborough, NC) each fire shots passed the goalie and that was followed by three straight goals from Scali, to pull the Pride to within only three, 11-8. However, that is all the scoring Greensboro was able to get as they were shut out in the fourth quarter and would fall to Saint Vincent's, 15-8.
The Pride will be back in action this Sunday, March 12
th as they host SUNY-Oneonta at Pride Field. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
