Wrestling honors Seniors in ODAC match against Shenandoah

Greensboro, NC - On Saturday afternoon the Greensboro College Wrestling team honored three Seniors, while hosting Shenandoah University in an ODAC match-up at Hanes Gymnasium.  While the Pride came up short, 29-26, it was an emotional day for the team and the fans.

Seniors

Trevor Carter
A four year starter and served two years as team Captain.  He will complete a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology and plans to pursue a career in law enforcement after graduation.  Carter was awarded All-Academic honors for the USA South Conference for 2020-21 and has been a four-time Dean's list honoree.  He represents the wrestling team on the student athletic committee and plans on attending the police academy upon graduation.  

Brandon Williams
A fifth year Senior, Williams will be graduating with degrees in Business Administration, Economics and Accounting.  In addition to being nationally ranked in the Heavyweight division he is also a Pollard Scholarship recipient and an All-Academic USA South award winner. 

Isabella Ruiz
A Senior from San Antonio, TX will graduate with a degree in English and Communications with a minor in Psychology  After college, she hopes to intern abroad for a year then go to grad school, with the ultimate goal of having a job in the communications field (hr, pr, event management, journalism).  "My season was so fun. Being able to travel to all these different places and face good competition was a great learning experience. My coaches helped me throughout the whole season and I learned so many lessons throughout wrestling that I will bring with me in the real world".
