Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Lacrosse falls on the road to Berry

Mount Berry, GA – The Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse team traveled south to Georgia for their first road trip of the young season, as they faced a familiar foe in Berry University.  The Pride would keep it close at the beginning of the game, but the Vikings offense found the net on multiple occasions to come away with the win over Greensboro, 14-6.

Berry got on the scoreboard first to start the game in the first quarter, but Grad Student Seth Mandryk (Stonewall Manitoba, GA) took a pass from Junior DJ Johnson (Greensboro, NC) to tie the game at 1-1., but the Vikings would proceed to score five straight goals going into the second quarter.  However, a few minutes before halftime, Senior Austin Abourjilie (Greensboro, NC) would score two straight goals to cut into the lead and send the Pride into the locker only trailing 6-3.

The third quarter saw Berry score first, but Greensboro, once again, had an answer with two goals by Abourjilie and Mandryk (Man Up),  Unfortunately, the Vikings went on another offensive run to score seven goals in a row and the Pride were unable to make a run in the fourth quarter to cut into the advantage.   As the final horn sounded, Greensboro would fall to Berry by a final score of 14-6.

Abourjilie led the Pride with 3 goals, while Mandryk added two of his own.  As a team, Greensboro was 21-29 on clear opportunities and picked up a total of 20 ground balls.  The Pride will return to action nex Saturday, February 25th as they host Ferrum College.  Face-off is scheduled for 12:00pm.
