Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pride Tied On Senior Night

Greensboro, NC - In a riveting and closely contested matchup between the Greensboro Pride Men's Soccer team and their conference rivals, North Carolina Wesleyan Battling Bishops, the outcome was nothing short of thrilling. The Pride showcased their determination as they secured a hard-fought tie against the top-ranked Battling Bishops.

The Pride and the Battling Bishops locked horns in a contest that could have easily gone either way. North Carolina Wesleyan managed to break the deadlock in a rather peculiar manner, with a stroke of luck on their side. A mishap from one of the Pride's players led to an unintentional block, and the ricochet bounced just right for the Bishops to capitalize and score the only goal of the match.

The Pride's offense, undeterred by the early setback, was determined to answer back. Conner Spesock and Craig Thomas took charge, each taking three shots, putting the Battling Bishops' defense under constant pressure. Brady Mowers added a shot on goal, while Jovan Cotton and Juan Ramirez were relentless in their pursuit of an equalizer, each launching a pair of shots to keep the Bishops' goalkeeper busy.

The moment of redemption for the Pride came in the 85th minute, as Juan Ramirez found the back of the net with a well-placed shot. Ramirez's goal tied the game, and the Pride showed their mettle by refusing to give in.

In the battle of goalkeepers, Christian Del Cid Portillo was a standout performer for the Pride, making five crucial saves on the night not allowing anything to reach the back of the net. His acrobatics and quick reactions kept the Pride in contention.

Their next challenge will see them hit the road to face off against Elon University on October 25th in Elon, NC. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 PM, and fans can expect another exciting display of soccer as the Pride continues their pursuit of victory in the conference.
