Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA--Greensboro's men's lacrosse team fell in the USA South semi-finals on Friday 25-6 to Southern Virginia.
Greensboro fell in a hole early, getting outscored 8-0 in the 1st period, then 11-0 before Will Beyer, assisted by
Ethan Pierce got the Pride on the board halfway through the 2nd. Will Beyer got his second goal of the day with a buzzer beater just before halftime, but SVU took a 12-2 lead into halftime. Despite two goals apiece from Beyer and
Michael Meley, GC could not overcome the early deficit, and fell to the top seeded Knights.
The Knights kept goalie
Christopher Stallings busy, as he faced 71 shots, and he made a season-high 23 saves in net.
SVU and Pfeiffer will square off for the USA South Championship tomorrow.
The Pride finishes the season 11-7, and will look to build on this year's success in the offseason, ready to compete next spring in the USA South.
