GREENSBORO, NC. — Greensboro College women's lacrosse team fell short in a 14-1 conference loss to Piedmont on Saturday afternoon on Pride Field.
Piedmont (6-7) opened the game with quick back-to-back goals on their way to a 8-0 advantage by the end the first quarter.
Greensboro answered quickly to start the second period with
Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce tallying a goal for the Pride at 12:42 in the 2nd, which came off a forced turnover. The Lions added three more goals in the second quarter to take a 11-1 lead over GC (0-8) into halftime.
Maggi Spratlin led the Lions with four goals on the day en route to the victory.
Sada Hollowell made eight saves and gathered five ground balls for the Pride while in net.
Greensboro's next game is scheduled for tomorrow at 1pm as they host the Tornados of Brevard.
