Kailey Walker each went 1-3 for the Pride, but the Pride could not mount a sustained offensive threat against the Captains starting pitcher, Kate Alger, who struck out nine batters in six innings.
Game two was more of the same, as Christopher Newport jumped out to a 4-0 1st inning lead, helped by a 3-run homer from Katie Currin.

The Pride now sit at 17-7,(5-1) on the season, and will get back into conference play by hosting Methodist at Latham Park on Wednesday, April 6th for a two game series beginning at 2:00 pm.
