GREENSBORO, NC--The Pride lacrosse team honored
Ethan Pierce,
Shawn Cardwell, Dom Scali, Ramiro Espinosa-Ponce,
Gage Pearman,
Christopher Stallings,
Aidan Karmazinski,
Michael Meley, and
Ethan Hemati, who all played their last game on Pride Field with a 15-12 win over William Peace on Saturday afternoon.
Ethan Pierce got GC on the board with 05:45 left in the 1st, the first of his three goals on the day.
Austin Abourjilie scored the first of his four goals, assisted by Will Beyer with 4:40 remaining in the 1st quarter to tie the game at 2-2.
Michael Meley put another one on the board with 3:20 left in the 1st with another assist from Meley to give the Pride the lead and the momentum at 3-2.
Greensboro controlled the rest of the 1st half, and would take a 9-5 lead into halftime after Dom Scali found the back of the net off a great feed from
Aaron Larios-Neubert just 2:27 before halftime.
Greensboro went up by a score of 15-9 in the 4th period after Aboujilie put one past the Pacer goalie with 4:16 left in the game, but William Peace would answer back with three goals in the final three minutes to draw within three at 15-12.
Chris Stallings got the win in net with 15 saves in another masterful performance.
Now sitting at 9-6 Greensboro will wrap up the regular season with a trip to LaGrange next Saturday at 1pm.
