Greensboro, NC
Despite the elements, Greensboro's men's lacrosse team rolled to a 17-5 win over Husson on Tuesday night (March 8). Greensboro'sÂ
Austin Abourjilie and
Ethan Pierce got the Pride off to a hot start, each scoring twice within the first eight minutes. Husson's Gunner McCalister answered for Husson, cutting the lead to 2-1. As the rain came down, the Pride turned up the pressure.Â
Greensboro scored the next 6 goals, including two from
Austin Abourjilie and a pair from
Michael Meley.Â
Aaron Larios-Neubert's goal with just 10 seconds left in the 2nd quarter increased the Pride lead to 11-2, and GC did not let up in the second half.
Michael Meley got the Pride on the board at 12:22 of the 3rd period, and
Gage Pearman's goal with 6:07 left in the 3rd put the game out of reach at 15-2.
The win moves Greensboro to 3-2 on the season, and they look to keep rolling, hosting University of Mary Washington at 1pm on Saturday at Pride Field.
