RALEIGH, NC -- Greensboro's softball team defeated William Peace 4-2 in game one of a doubleheader matchup, while falling 11-2 in the second game.  In game one, Kassie Simmons' 3rd inning homer put the Pride ahead 3-0, which would be more than enough offense for the win.

Cheyanne Cox went seven strong innings, striking out 10 Pacer batters in the process.  The Pride were paced by Caroline Stanley and Kailey Walker, each going 2-4, and Walker adding an RBI on a double to left field in the 4th inning.

In game two, Greensboro fell behind early after surrendering three runs in the 1st inning.  Hannah King delivered a RBI single to center to bring in Ivy Ray to narrow the gap to 3-2 for WPU.  The Pacers would then rattle off four homeruns and eight total runs the 4th, 5th, and 6fh innings, including a grand slam to seal the victory.

Greensboro will stay on the road as they travel to Mary Baldwin on Tuesday, March 29 for a doubleheader starting at 2pm.
