Box Score 2 MISENHEIMER, NC--The Pride dropped a pair to Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon (March 19th).
Pfeiffer's Bryce Marsh's RBI double to left center in the bottom of the 8th inning broke a 6-6 tie, and the Falcons would hold off a fierce Pride rally in the 9th to win 10-8.
Braxton Rupp carried the load for Greensboro offensively, going 3-4 with two RBI, including an RBI single in the first inning to put Greensboro ahead 1-0.
Cam Watts also stood out from the plate, going 2-4 with three RBI, including a 9th inning 2-RBI double to right center that brought Greensboro to within two runs at 10-8. It was ultimately not enough, as Pfeiffer closed out the game and held on for the win.
In game two, Greensboro fell behind early, surrendering nine runs in the first inning. The Pride committed three costly errors in the first frame alone, and five for the game.
Braxton Rupp provided solid production again, going 2-4 with two runs scored, while
Josh Pittman provided a spark, going 2-4 from the second spot in the batting order.
However, Pfeiffer was able to score 16 runs on 13 hits, forcing Greensboro to play from behind all afternoon.
Greensboro falls to 5-8, and looks to regroup for the finale of the three game series at Pfeiffer. They take to the diamond at 2:00 PM tomorrow.
