Greensboro, NC
The women's basketball team stayed red-hot in an 84-50 win over Methodist University on Wednesday night (January 26). The Pride quickly jumped out to a 9-0 lead following Quadijah Moore's layup just 2:07 into the game. Methodist clawed back, trailing 17-12 at the end of the first quarter, but then the Pride defense clamped down and began forcing turnovers in bunches.
At 2:04 of the second quarter, Moore jumped into the passing lane, and ran down for a layup, plus the foul. This stretched Greensboro's lead to 30-18, and was one of 26 forced turnovers by the Pride.
Greensboro was efficient on the offensive end, led by Freshman Guard Lauren Livingston's 21 points and four assists to go along with five steals.
The win marks the 10th in a row for the Pride, who now rank 7th nationally in points per game. They hit the road to play Averett on Saturday, January 29th at 4:00 PM.
