Greensboro's men's basketball team hit the road Tuesday (January 25) to play the Knights of Southern Virginia, and came away with a 93-75 loss.  Despite 21 points from Senior Guard Greyson Collins, the Pride fell behind early and could not generate enough defensive stops to mount a comeback.  Southern Virginia was more efficient than Greensboro in all three shooting categories 52.6% to 36.8% from the field, 47.8% to 40% from three, and 84.6% to 68.4% from the free-throw line.

Senior Kevon Meertins' steal and subsequent layup brought the Pride to within three at 26-29 with eight minutes to go in the first half, but the Knights surged back to take a 49-41 lead at halftime.

The second half saw Southern Virginia continue its hot shooting, led by Conner Marchant's game high 25 points.  Greensboro made it a one possession game at 49-46 after Christian Thompson made a jumper at 17:58 of the second half.  The Knights answered with a 18-5 run over the next five minutes that put Southern Virginia on top for good.

Greensboro looks to right the ship as they travel to Staunton, VA to visit Mary Baldwin at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 26th.
