GC Falls in USA South Tournament

The Greensboro College women's soccer team faced Mary Baldwin University in the first round of the USA South Tournament. The Pride fell to the Squirrels, 2-0.

Mary Baldwin opened the contest by taking the first three shots. The hosts kept up the pressure and scored the opening goal in the 12th minute. 

Greensboro began to respond with their own shots on goal but each one was stopped by the Mary Baldwin's Anyka Wilkin. 

In the 37th minute, the Squirrels doubled their lead (2-0) and held till through halftime.

The second half began with both teams exchanging opportunities but none were fruitful. This pattern continued for the remainder of regulation as the GC fell by the two-goal margin.

The Pride's Lindsay Fox made eight saves on the afternoon. Mary Baldwin held a slight advantage in shots on goal (10-8) and corner kicks (3-2).

Greensboro concludes the year with a record of 5-10-3 overall and 3-4-2 in the conference.
