GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team fell to the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday 77-69.
 
Aided by seven combined points from Ashley Free and Diajah Hickson, the Greensboro women opened the game on an 11-2 run before the Bishops were able to battle back to tie the game at 17 with 1:28 to play in the period.
 
Following the Bishops three-pointer to tie the game, Destiny Timberlake hit from three-point land with less than a minute on the clock to put the Pride on top 20-17 before talking a 22-19 lead into the second period.
 
Over the next 10 minutes, the teams traded the lead six times before N.C. Wesley closed the half on a 5-0 run to take a 39-37 halftime lead.
 
In the second half, Greensboro struggled from the field and the Bishops went on to establish a 14 point lead early in the fourth period before holding on for the eight-point victory, following a late surge by the Pride.
 
Ashley Free finished with 19 points, while Katie Lewis, who was recognized prior to the start of the game, finished with 12 points.
