GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to the Quakers of Guilford College Wednesday 16-9.
Guilford took a 2-0 lead midway through the first period before
Davis Miller scored off an assist from
Patrick Bell to make the score 2-1. However, Guilford was able to take a 3-1 into the second period before Greensboro outscored the Quakers 6-1 in over the next 15 minutes to take a 7-4 halftime lead.
Michael Meley accounted for two of the goals, while
Ryan Pomeroy, Phillip Gerber,
Spencer Kontoulas, and
Aidan Poole each had one goal.
Following the break, Guilford tied the game with three straight goals before Meley and Kontoulas both found the back of the net to give Greensboro a 9-7 lead heading into the final 15 minutes. However, Guilford scored nine unanswered goals to take the victory.
Christopher Stallings made 14 saves but was credited with the loss.
