DEMOREST, Ga. – The Greensboro College men's basketball team fell to the Lions of Piedmont College Saturday 84-72.
 
Piedmont took a 7-3 lead just less than four minutes into the contest before Greensboro used a 9-4 run over the next 1:59 to take their first lead of the contest. Greyson Collins, who finished the game with a team-high 21 points, go the run started with a long three-pointer from the left elbow before Joshua McQuinn scored a second-chance basket to give the Pride a 12-11 lead.
 
The two teams then traded the lead back and forth for the next five minutes before Piedmont used a 9-2 run to establish a 11-point lead with less than a minute showing on the clock before going into the break with a 40-31 lead.
 
After the Lions extended their lead to 13 just over a minute into the second half, Collins and Matt Brown combined for the game's next six points to draw Greensboro back to within seven with 16:41 remaining on the clock.
 
Following the Collins three-pointer, Piedmont extended their lead out to nine before Mason Sergi capped off a 13-4 Pride run with a jumper from the elbow to tie the contest at 52. However, Piedmont was able to extend their lead back out to double digits over the next seven minutes before going on to take the 12-point victory.
 
Brown finished the game one rebound shy of a double-double as he recorded 12 points and nine rebounds. Kevon Meertins also finished in double figures with 11 points while Landon Murray finished with seven points.
