Women's Soccer Records Third Straight Victory With 4-0 Shutout Against Southern Virginia

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team recorded their third straight victory Saturday as they topped the Knights of Southern Virginia University 4-0.

Greensboro wasted no time getting on the board first. Natalie Habich took a feed from Angela Niles in the second minute and tucked it away for her first goal of the season.

Just two minutes later, Anna Rae Porcelli extended the Pride advantage to two goals before Samantha Whipp scored her first goal of the season to give Greensboro a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Over the first several minutes of the second half, the Knights applied pressure to the Pride back line but Kelsey Emrich and the rest of the Pride defense was able to keep the shutout intact.

As the time began to run out, Greensboro got one final goal as Alexis Chase got a pass from Sierra on the left side of the 18-yard box and tucked it in the upper right-hand corner of the goal to complete the four-goal advantage.

Greensboro outshot the Knights 15-5 on the day with eight shots going on goal. Emrich finished the day with three saves and picked up the win in goal.

The Pride women will return to action Sunday when they travel to take on the Wasps of Emory & Henry College at 4 p.m. For more information on Greensboro College women's soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
