Mihindou's Second Half Goal Lifts Pride To 1-0 Victory Over Bob Jones

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's soccer team got a second-half goal by Darli Mihindou to defeat the Bruins of Bob Jones University Saturday 1-0.

In the first half, Greensboro outshot the Bruins by a 12-1 mark but could not find the back of the net and went into the halftime break tied at one.

The score then remained tied until the 57th minute when Mihindou scored the game's lone goal. The goal was set up by Jordy Briceno. Briceno possessed the ball just shy of the midfield stripe and was able slot the ball through to Mihindou despite getting taken down on the play.

Over the remainder of the game, Greensboro had several shots on goal but could not punch in another goal while the defense held strong to post the one-goal shutout.

"I thought the boys played well and created a lot of chances, but unfortunately we didn't reward ourselves by taking advantage of them," Head Coach Tony Falvino said. "We need to be more clinical in front of goal and we showed a lot signs of progress.

"We have a big game to prepare for Wednesday at Bryan Park."

Remy Brezault played the final 45 minutes in goal for the Pride and was credited with the win while Elmer Martinez recorded one save over the first 45 minutes.

The Pride men will return to action Wednesday when they host Roanoke College. For more information on Greensboro College men's soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
