Women's Lacrosse Holds On Late To Top N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team recorded their fourth straight victory with a 19-15 win over the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Wednesday.
 
Greensboro took three-goal lead just three minutes into the first half after Mackenzie Burns, Kara Whitson, and Murphie Davis found the back of the net.
 
After the Bishops scored the game's next two goals, Madsion Blashaw struck the net for the Pride to start a three-goal run to extend their Pride lead to 6-2.
 
Over the next seven minutes, both teams were able to strike for two goals before the Bishops used a two-goal spurt to pull within 8-6.
 
However, Greensboro outscored the Bishops over the final 5:46 of the half to take an 11-7 lead in the second half.
 
Over the final 22 minutes of the first half, N.C. Wesleyan was able to battle back to pull within 15-14 but Greensboro was able to use a 4-1 run over the final 8:28 to secure the victory. Burns, Morgan Montgomery, Whitson, and Blashaw combined for the final four Pride goals.
 
Sada Hollowell recorded nine saves on the day and was credited with the win.
