Women's Soccer Strikes Late To Top Meredith 1-0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team remained unbeaten in USA South Athletic Conference play with a 1-0 victory over Meredith College Wednesday.

In the first half, Greensboro fired off 13 shots but was unable to find the back on the net and went into the halftime break tied at zero.

Following the break, it was not until the 88th minute when the Pride broke through when Logan Schnabl found the back of the net for the game-winning goal.

Greensboro ended up out shooting the Angels by a 25-3 mark in the contest with 11 shots going on the goal frame. Kelsey Emrich stopped both shots she faced on goal and was credited with the win.

"Today's game was about being a part of something bigger than ourselves as it was our "Pink Game" in honor of those who have been effected or are currently effected by breast cancer," Head Coach Jordan May said. "The match proved to be a bit difficult for us, but we were able to find a way to win.

"We will take the lessons we learned from this game and use them to fuel us forward down the stretch of regular season play."

The Pride women will return to action Tuesday when they host Mary Baldwin College. For more information on Greensboro College women's soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
