Men's Soccer Closes Out Regular Season Play With 4-2 Victory Over Maryville

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's soccer team defeated the Scots of Maryville College 4-2 in their regular season finale Saturday.

Greensboro vaulted out to a 1-0 lead in just the first minute after Darli Mihindou tucked the ball into the back of the net before adding a pair of goals by Gerado Peraza over the next 16 minutes to take a 3-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, Maryville was able to get one of the goals back in the 65th minute, but Greensboro quickly responded back just four minutes later. Parker Spesock launched a ball into the box and Mihindou headed the ball into the net for his second goal of the afternoon to regain the three-goal lead.

The Scots then got one final goal in the 90th minute but the Pride held on for the two-goal victory.

Greensboro dominated the Scots in shots after outshooting them by a 16-5 mark with half of them going on the goal frame. Remey Brezault was credited with the win in goal.
