GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's tennis team picked up their first 2018 USA South Athletic Conference victory over the Panthers of Ferrum College Wednesday, 5-4.
The Pride opened up the match with two doubles wins. The team of
Carlos Barragan and
Warren Washington won a No.1, 8-1, while
Daniel Christian and
Jared Heller won at No.2, 8-5.
Barragan, Christian and Heller each tallied victories in singles to secure the one-point win, while
Gabriel Reynosa,
Torian Bullock and Washington dropped their respective singles matches.
"I am proud of my guys today for a great team win in some tough weather conditions," Head Coach
Gus Mota said. "With spring break and the snow we have had, we were not able to practice as much as we wanted.
"Today they fought through adversity to get their first win of the season. We are looking forward to our next match."
