MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team fell to the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Sunday, 63-51.
 
Pfeiffer held an eight-point advantage with just over one minute remaining in the first period before the Pride closed out the final minute of the period on a 5-0 run to pull within 16-13 through 10 minutes of play. A'Liyah Woods had all five points for Greensboro.
 
Following the Greensboro run, the Falcons were able to regain a five-point edge but the Pride did not go away as they used an 8-3 run to tie the game at 21 with five minutes remaining until halftime.
 
Over the final six minutes of the half, Greensboro was able to take their first lead of the game at 29-27, following a Woods three-pointer, before going into the half tied at 31.
 
The two teams then traded baskets for much of the final two periods of play, but Pfeiffer was able to pull away over the final three minutes to secure the 12-point win.
 
"We are really disappointed with the loss today as we had some really good chances," Head Coach Randy Tuggle said. "Down the stretch we stopped doing the things that had worked for us throughout the game and we were not able to recover from it.
 
"We had several players step up and hopefully they can build upon that down the stretch."
 
Woods finished with a team-high 16 points, while Shaniah Haynes had 10 points.
