MARYVILLE, Tenn.—The Greensboro College men's basketball team stumbled against the Scots of Maryville College Sunday, 90-75.
The Scots were up on the board first, but both sophomore
Darus Maddox and senior
Joseph Gatling dropped five points each to help put the Pride up 16-11 in the first seven minutes of play. Maddox (11) and Gatling (13) were both in double digits scoring as Greensboro went into halftime trailing Maryville, 38-35.
The Pride started off the second half on a 4-0 run, but the Scots pulled away late in the half and emerged with the win.
"Every practice and every game has been a grind and we continue to learn a lot about ourselves," Head Coach
Bryan Galuski said. Today was a disappointing ending to what I thought was a decently played first half by our team.
"How we finished was extremely disappointing."
Gatling completed the game with a season-high 35 points after shooting 60% from three-point land. Maddox finished with 17 points, while
Cornelius Johnson tallied 11 points of his own.
The Pride men will return to their home court in Hanes Gymnasium when they host the Monarchs of Methodist University Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. For more information on Greensboro College men's basketball, continue to follow
