RALEIGH, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team dropped their USA South Athletic Conference opener to Meredith College Saturday, 2-0.
The two teams played to a scoreless draw for the first 39 minutes until the Angels were able to strike for the game's first goal.
The score the remained the same for the next 27 minutes before Meredith was able to tally the game's final goal to secure the two-goal victory.
"I am proud of the girls for battling for a full 90 minutes," Head Coach
Gus Mota said. "We cannot give up two easy goals and expect to win against a team like Meredith.
"We are looking forward to returning to practice to prepare for Ferrum on Wednesday."
Meredith held a narrow 8-5 advantage in shots.

Samantha Whipp and
Samantha Lopez each had shots on goal for the Pride.
Brittany Morrison took the loss in goal for Greensboro despite recording two saves.
