Women's Lacrosse Falls To Bridgewater In Non-Conference Tilt

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team fell to the Golden Eagles of Bridgewater College Sunday, 16-3.

The Eagles opened up a 5-0 lead eight minutes into the contest before Christina SanGiacomo scored her 17th goal of the season to pull the Pride to within four goals.

After Bridgewater extended their lead to 7-1, Natalie Ritchey found Kara Whitson to make the score 7-2 before the Eagles took a seven-goal lead into halftime.

Bridgewater was then able to score the first six goals of the second half before Mackenzie Felmmons scored the game's final goal with 3:22 left to play.

"Playing two games in the matter of 24 hours is really tough," Head Coach Christie Hebert said. "We came out of the gates slow today and just could not recover.

"We will get back to practice this week and prepare for our final home game of the season against a very tough Meredith team."

Ritchey possessed a team-high four draw controls in the loss, while also tallying two assists. Devan Macheras paced Greensboro with three groundballs. Despite recording seven saves, Kianna Anderson took the loss in goal.

The Pride women's lacrosse team will return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when they host USA South Athletic Conference foe Meredith College for senior day. For more information on Greensboro College women's lacrosse, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
