GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team fell on senior day to the Angels of Meredith College Saturday, 18-6.
Meredith scored the game's first 10 goals before
Natalie Ritchey got the Pride on the board with her 25
th goal of the season.
The Angels were then able to add four goals to their lead before Ritchey scored once again to make the score 15-2 with just over 21 minutes played.
Over the course of the final 21 minutes, Greensboro was able to outscore Meredith 4-3 before falling by the 12-goal margin.
Kara Whitson had two goals, while Ritchey and
Laine Walston combined for the remaining two goals.
"We played better in the second half after struggling over the first 30 minutes," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "We will keep working as we will face them again in the first round of the conference tournament next week.
"It was a good senior day and we played for our seniors."
Ritchey finished with three goals and two assists to lead the Pride, while possessing a team-high five draw controls.
Kianna Anderson made eight saves in goal.
With the loss, Greensboro earned the No.4-seed in the upcoming USA South Athletic Conference Tournament next week but they will close out the regular season at 4 p.m. Monday when they travel to Southern Virginia University.
