GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to the Eagles of Bridgewater College Wednesday, 16-6.
Austin Bane gave the Pride an early one-goal lead two minutes into the first period before the Eagles tied the game a one shortly after.
Greensboro then regained a one-goal lead with 9:22 showing on the first period clock when
Daniel Wolf hit the back of the net off a
Davis Miller assist.
Bridgewater then score the game's next four goals to take a 5-2 lead before
Andrew Klementz brought Greensboro to within two-goals with 16-seconds left in the first period.
Following the Klementz goal, the Eagles outscored the Pride 6-1 in the second period to take a 11-4 halftime lead. Johnathan Avedesian scored Greensboro's goal halfway through the period.
Greensboro struck first in the third period when
Davis Miller struck for his team-leading 16
th goal of the season but Bridgewater outscored the Pride 5-1 over the final 17 minutes to secure the victory.
"I thought we played great in the first and third quarters," Head Coach
Mike Foderaro said. "A lot of younger guys got meaningful reps that will help us later in the season.
"We threw the ball away early and Bridgewater was able to capitalize."
Phillip Gerber picked up a team-high five ground balls, while
Chris DiBlasi took the loss on goal despite making 11 saves.
