GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College football team fell to the Cougars of Averett University on senior day Saturday, 54-0.

Prior to the start of the game, Greensboro recognized 11 members of the football team who played their final game in a Greensboro College uniform.

The Cougars took a 33-0 lead into halftime before scoring the game's final 21 points in the third quarter to secure the win.
 
Following the Cougars last touchdown, the Greensboro defense was able to force the Cougars to punt the ball away on three of their final four possessions.

"We are still a really young team and continue to grow together," Head Coach Greg Crum said. "I would like to thank the senior class for all of their hard work and efforts over the past four seasons and I wish them the best of luck.
 
"As a team, we will start preparing for the 2018 season right away."
 
Garratt Brannock had a team-high nine tackles, while Kasseem Bagley, Jeremiah Speed and Keon Reynolds combined for 20 tackles, including one for loss.
