GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College volleyball team split its two contests Sunday on the final day of the Greensboro College Volleyball Invitational.
The Pride (5-4) fell to Emory & Henry 3-0 to open the day before topping Elizabeth City State, 3-0.
Greensboro held the lead in each of the three sets against the Wasps but could not hold those leads, falling by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-18.
Evan Sherer paced Greensboro with nine kills, while
Shayla Moss chipped in six kills.
Darrian Bolt, who was named to the All-Tournament team, recorded 11 assists.
After dropping the match with E&H, the Pride sailed to a straight-set victory over the Vikings of Elizabeth City State University. Greensboro won by scores of 25-9, 25-15, and 25-14.
Moss finished with a match-high seven kills, while
Emily Horn and Sherer contributed five kills each. Bolt once again passed for a team-high 16 assists.
"We are learning to take our knocks and learn from them," Head Coach
Kaci Pike said. "Overall this weekend was a success on many levels, including getting contributions from the entire team."
