GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer teamremained undefeated Saturday, defeating Warren Wilson College 5-1.
The Owls (0-3) got on the board first with a goal by Ashleigh Ritcher in the eighth minute.
The Pride (3-0) then found the equalizer in the 25
th minute.
Mercedes Fisher collected a rebound off a shot by
Meredith Priest and beat the Warren Wilson keeper in the lower third of the goal.
The score remained tied until
Anna Rae Porcelli and
Lory Galdamez scored to give Greensboro a 3-1 halftime lead.
Briana Huber and
Alexa Rehling each recorded one assist.
Following intermission, the Pride continued to apply pressure as Priest and Devin D'Augostin each struck for one goal to secure the four-goal victory.
The Pride held a 22-1 advantage in shots, while also holding a 5-1 corner-kick advantage.
Lauren Greeson, who tallied one assist, had a team-high seven shots, while Porcelli placed three shots on goal.
Rachel Swaim picked up her first collegiate victory in goal, while
Brittany Morrison also saw time between the pipes.
