DEMOREST, Ga. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team closed out USA South Athletic Conference regular season play Saturday with a 14-12 victory over Piedmont College.
Kirstin Norris scored two early goals to give the Pride (11-3, 5-1 USA South) an early advantage before the Lions (9-6, 4-2 USA South) rallied back to take a 3-2 lead.
Norris then evened score five minutes later to draw Greensboro even once again.
Following Norris' third goal of the afternoon, Piedmont pulled out to a four goal lead before Norris and
Ashlynn Parks pulled Greensboro to within 7-5 at halftime.
Greensboro outscored the Lions 3-1 over the first 12-minutes of the second half to tie the game at 8.
Natalie Ritchey, Parks, and Norris each recorded one goal.
The two teams traded goals for the next 10-minutes before the Pride used a 4-1 stretch to secure the two-goal victory.

Amira Khatib, Parks, and Ritchey accounted for the final four goals.
"It's not about how you start a game but about how you finish," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "We finished today on a high noted that led us into the two spot in the upcoming USA South Tournament.
"This team deserves to go out on a high not and we did as we played like a family. The score in the end showed we were the better team."
Norris finished with a game-high six goals, while Parks and Ritchey each had three goals. Norris, Ritchey, and
Laine Walston each had one assist.
Kaleigh Hemstock picked up the win after making eight saves.
With the win over Piedmont, the Pride secure the No. 2 seed for the upcoming USA South Athletic Conference Tournament that will be played next week in Rocky Mount, N.C.
