Women's Lacrosse Closes Regular Season With Victory Over Berry

ROME, Ga. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team closed its 2016 regular season Sunday with a 12-7 victory over the Vikings of Berry College.
 
Kirstin Norris tallied two goals, while Natalie Ritchey scored her first goal of the day to give Greensboro (12-3) a 3-0 lead.
 
After Berry pulled within one goal, Norris and Ritchey combined for three more goals to give the Pride a 6-2 lead early in the second half.
 
Over the remainder of the game, the Vikings did not pull any closer than two goals as the Pride pulled away for the five-goal victory.
 
"It was a good way to end the regular season today," Head Coach Christie Hebert said. "We look forward to riding our momentum as we start our chase for a championship next week."
 
Norris finished with a game-high seven goals. Ritchey tallied three goals, while Alexa Besch accounted for two goals. Kaleigh Hemstock picked up the win after making five saves.
 
The Pride women will return to action at 1 p.m. Friday when they take on the Lions of Piedmont College in the semifinals of the USA South Tournament. The tournament will be played in Rocky Mount, N.C., as a part of the USA South Spring Tournament Festival.
