ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team closed its 2016 season with a 15-10 semifinal loss to the Lions of Piedmont College.
Ashlynn Parks gave Greensboro a 1-0 lead before the Lions outscored the Pride 11-4 over the remainder of the first half to take an 11-5 halftime lead.
Amira Khatib tallied two goals, while
Kirstin Norris and
Alexa Besch tallied one goal each.
Greensboro then open the second half on a 5-2 run to pull within 13-10. Besch tallied three of the goals, while Norris added the other two.
The Pride tried to pull closer, but was unable falling by the five-goal margin.
Besch finished with a team-high four goals, while Norris chipped in three goals. Parks, who had one goal, passed for a team-leading two assists.
Kaleigh Hemstock finished with six saves in the loss.
