GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team sailed to a 22-1 Senior Day victory over Ferrum College Saturday.
The Pride (10-3, 4-1 USA South) scored the first nine goals before the Panthers scored their lone goal.
Ashlynn Parks and
Kirstin Norris combined for five goals during the opening run, while
Alexa Besch, Christina Sangiacomo,
Amira Khatib, and
Natalie Ritchey each added one goal.
Greensboro then scored five more times in the half to take a 14-1 halftime lead.
The Pride continued its dominance in the second half, shutting out Ferrum 9-0 to secure the victory.
"This was a great way to send out our senior class," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "This game was very emotional, and I hope that we can ride this momentum for the remainder of the season and into the conference tournament."
Prior to the game, the Pride recognized seniors Besch, Parks, Khatib, Kaleigh Hemstok, and Norris.
Parks finished with a team-high five goals, while Norris and Khatib had four goals each. Norris tallied a team-high five assists. Hemstock picked up the win in goal.
