GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kirstin Norris scored a team-high six goals as the Pride women's lacrosse team downed the Hawks of Huntingdon College 16-7 Sunday in USA South Athletic Conference action.
The Hawks (3-4, 1-1 USA South) jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Pride (3-0, 2-0 USA South) came storming back.
Ashlyn Parks scored the first goal for Greensboro in the ninth minute before Norris struck for the first time to tie the game.
Greensboro then outscored Huntingdon 10-2 over the last 20 minutes of the first half to take a 12-4 halftime lead. Norris recorded her final five goals of the afternoon during the spurt, while
Natalie Ritchey,
Alexa Besch, and Parks also scored.
Huntingdon struck first in the second half, but the Pride kept the pressure on to walk away with the nine-goal victory.
Ritchey controlled a team-high seven draw controls.
Kaleigh Hemstock recorded eight saves to earn her third win of the season.
