GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team defeated the Reds of Carthage College Tuesday, 14-5.
The Pride (7-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Reds (2-2) got on the board.
Natalie Ritchey,
Alexa Besch, and
Ashlynn Parks scored for Greensboro.
Following the Reds goal, the Pride outscored its opposition 3-1 over the final 17 minutes of the half to take a 6-2 halftime lead. Kristin Norris recorded her first two goals during the run, while Besch also tallied her second goal.
Parks and Ritchey then extended the Greensboro lead to 8-2 before the Reds answered with two goals of their own.
However, Greensboro ran off five straight goals en route to the final nine-goal margin.
"We had a very balanced offensive attack today," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "Our girls did a good job of executing our game plan, but we must quickly move on as we return to conference play tomorrow."
Norris finished with a team-high five goals, while Parks recorded four goals. Ritchey and Besch each had two goals.
Kaleigh Hemstock took the win in goal.
