BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team returned to its winning ways Monday as the defeated the Eagles of Bridgewater College 15-14.
Alexa Besch gave the Pride (6-3) a one goal lead just 50-seconds into the game before BC drew even following a goal by Kristen Stark.
Kristin Norris then scored her first goal of the half to regain the lead, but the Eagles struck two times to jump in front 3-4 before.
Norris answered right back with two more goals to give Greensboro a 4-3.
After Bridgewater tied the game for a third time, the teams traded goals before
Ashlynn Parks sent Greensboro into halftime with an 11-9 lead, following two goals in the final minute.
Norris struck for a fourth time just two minutes into the second half to extend the Greensboro lead to 12-9, but the Eagles responded back with four unanswered goals to jump on top 13-12.
However, Natalie Richey, Norris, and Besch each scored one goal over the final 11-minutes to secure the one goal victory.
"We played really well today," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "I hope that we can ride this momentum into our home game tomorrow."
Norris finished with a team-high six goals, while Ritchey, Besch, and Parks each had three goals.
Kaleigh Hemstock recorded the win after making 14 saves.
